Friday 23 May, Cocktails in Cawston

Good weather and sun shining so time for a stroll around the front garden.
Next I'd like to introduce you to the tower of giraffes.
And just when you think you have had your fill of outdoor giraffes, you simply head inside and aim for the bathroom.
Unsurprisingly the copper giraffe with the crown and checkered tie is called Karen. Did you notice the handcuffs that act as the towel ring? Jan has been given a makeoverand now also resides in the bathroom with a tray holding soaps and a hand towel. As I continue to explore Chateau Gezellig I am sure to find more treasures! We spend a quiet morning at home so I can get some much needed washing done. Lunch is home made pizza with butter chicken going. It was extra good. Our afternoon excursion was to a gin distillery where we imbibed in their scrumptious cocktails. Poor Joe was designated driver but we did offer him sips of our cocktails.
Sufficiently satisfied with our drinks we headed back home, via the pharmacy as I have now developed a runny nose which is likely a reaction to all the pollen. I wasn't sure if I should mention that during the enjoyment of her second cocktail, Vicki attempted to sip it through the straw except it wasn't a straw, it was a swizzle stick! If I shouldn't have mentioned this, then don't read the aforementioned... Safely back at home it is time to rest up a bit, catch up the blog and read my book. Dinner is a vegetarian layer 'cake' which is the best way I can describe it It was delicious but very filling. Vicki had ordered it from a friend who is a baker (she is Georgian and Ukranian) as we were meant to be having friends over for lunch yesterday but we did the mine visit so now there is lots of lovely food for us to demolish. Post dinner we watched TV for a while but I was having trouble staying awake so dosed myself up on some Benadryl and put myself to bed.
