Regua Tuesday 23 September

Good night's sleep and a 9am start to be off the coach to visit the oldest port producer, Kopke.
After a hand got drive off very winding and make roads we arrive at Quinta da Sao Luis. We are taken on a short tour of the buidings and have the preparation of pet explained to us. Beautiful views all around and no shortage of port barrels.
After the tour we are offered a tasting of both the red and white ports. Not being a port drinker I don't mind the white but offer my red to one of the Irish fellows who chugs it down, bless him!
The gift shop does a lot of business with many of the passengers but I already have my duty free allowance waiting at home for me! More lovely scenery on our return trip to the boat which had now moved across the river to Vila Nova de Gaia.
Back on the boat and we set off again. Lunch is a lovely meal as the chicken and prawns curries were excellent.
Quiet afternoon reading, watching the world go by and watching a movie. Plus have started packing the suitcase as this holiday is soon coming to an end.
Try and find the guy with the lawn mower in the next photo. Hats off to him if he does all these lawns with a push mower.
Time for a briefing re our disembarkation needs and to re meet some of the crew. Then it's time for dinner. Grilled shrimp, mushroom soup and beef strips. The only thing that spoiled dinner was Chris came and sat with us and was as miserable as ever. I had the misfortune for her to come and sit next to me in Salamanca at lunch, where she turned her back to me and ignored me the entire lunch. It was exceptionally rude on her part and she has clearly burnt her bridges with other guests, so has now come back to us as a last resort. Julie is happy to engage with her but I'm not as forgiving by a long shot. You only get one chance to make a positive first impression. She had 2 chances and I'm now at the stage in life where the only people I want to like me are the ones I respect. Rant over! So now it's time to go up to the lounge where they have a performer to sing and play music to dance to. I lasted about 45 minutes. I liked the choice of music but watching a lot of oldies (much older than me) attempt to disco dance meant 45 minutes was my limit. Back to the cabin to blog and then lights out.
