Time to buckle up the belts, put our seats in an upright position and return the trays back into their opening as we prepare for landing. We have arrived. Easily through Customs and then a bit of a search to find the Singapore Stopover booth that we need to go to, but eventually after asking 3 different airport officials we stumble onto it. We collect our vouchers for our transport to our hotel, plus heaps of vouchers to use while here. Our coach driver was a lovely fellow who was quite chatty with us, as we were last to be delivered to our hotel, but his accent was very thick and I missed a lot of what he was saying but that didn’t stop us from having a laugh. When we get to our hotel we realize that it is the same one we stayed in 11years ago prior to our Marco Polo cruise!!! We have been upgraded from our superior room to a Club room and am very pleased about that. It’s great to get our shoes off, put our feet up and have a cuppa. It’s all good so far.

Singapore here we come
Reasonably early morning start in fine weather and the lovely Claire arrived spot on 6.30 to get us to the airport. Seamless checkin at BUSINESS CLASS (they even have chocolates in a bowl for you) and through the scanners to then have to wait until the international departure area opens. Easily through Customs and we head to the international lounge (Silk, cos you get to go in there if you are BUSINESS CLASS...) coffee, a couple of sandwiches and we await our call to the boarding gate. Woo hoo. Singapore here we come. A lovely lady comes and tells us that our plane is ready to board, so we two giggling girls pass the great unwashed queuing to board and straight onto our plane we go, and are shown to our BUSINESS CLASS seats which are perfect for the upcoming 7 and a bit hours flight. Very smooth take off and we celebrate with a French champagne. A bit dry for my taste but J is prepared to have a second one so I figure it must be to her liking! I am immediately totally ruined by the amount of leg room and cannot possibly touch the seat in front of me even though I tried... so we finally settle in and pretend that we are sooooo used to this degree of comfort and service. A few more chuckles ensue between us as we figure out how everything opens and shuts in our lovely little pod. Next thing we know we are being served a king prawn salad entree which was excellent. I have now started on a cheeky little Chardonnay and J folllows suit. I know I’m making you cringe already with my numerous mentions of BUSINESS CLASS but hang in there, as I’ve got more raving about it to come. We were able to pre book our chef created meals so I am now served my Kung Pao chicken which was delicious, as J tucks into her Lobster Thermidor!!! When we think we can’t possibly eat any more, we then have a choice of pistachio ice cream or citrus topped cheesecake. I’m embarrassed to admit that we both somehow managed to scoff down the cheesecake. I finally admitted defeat and wanted no more food but J lined up for the cheese platter just to put the finishing touches on her meal. Whilst wearing my very comfortable noise reducing headset, I settle in to watch a couple of movies - The Three Billboards at Ebbing (something like that) and The Greatest Showman. Very disappointing ending on the first one and much ado about nothing for the second, but they filled the time well. Had a bit of a read of the kindle and in between more chatting with J, more Chardonnay and even a coffee. I think we were offered at least six hot towels during the flight and plenty of water so all in all we were extremely well fed and watered.
