We wander along the waterfront past loads of restaurants and bars. Somewhat unsurprisingly we find a water front bar that has 1 for 1 drinks so feel obligated to assist the Singapore economy one last time and have a glass of wine while we sit and admire the view. Eventually we head up to our bus stop and catch our bus that takes us back to our hotel where we sort our travel tickets and contemplate packing up our suitcases ready for tonight’s departure. It has been a lovely couple of days with no pressure and no concept of having to be anywhere at any given time. A lazy afternoon in our hotel room with a 6pm checkout. The storm has come in while we are sitting in our room enjoying a cuppa. Time for a freshen up and close up the suitcases. And as we have three hours after checkout until our transport to the airport a glass of wine in the lounge is required. Our transport to the airport arrives and off to the airport we go. Check in is seamless and we head to the lounge where we have about an hour and a half before we need to head to our gate. The lounge is really full but we finally find a couple spare seats so it’s all good. I’ve struggled with sinus problems all day and am hopeful that this won’t be an issue on the flight. Have a huge supply of tissues and meds so I should be good. Here’s hoping...

Final day in Singapore
Once again we awoke to a warm sunny day. It’s a bit humid but not oppressive. A late breakfast and we eventually decide to venture out to go to Raffles hotel where I intend buying J a Singapore Sling towards a belated birthday reward, but I wasn’t meant to be as the entire Raffles hotel complex is closed for major renovations, not opening again untl mid year. Not to be put off we head to a nearby cafe where we have coffee and cake instead! It’s then a short walk to the bus hub where we get on a coach bound for the Merlion. A good photo opportunity awaits.

Sounds like another successful day apart from th Singapore Sling but guess some of the wine made up for that. I do hope France has lots of wine in storage or it could be a challenge!!! So glad all going well and between you two, getting around has been a cinch well done. Have a comfortable and safe flight and look forward to the next installlment of the Princess travels

ReplyDeleteWhaha. I wanna see the peektures.
That triple tower building is amazing. Is there a garden atop it? Thanks for the effort getting the pictures loaded. I was only half jealous of the trip with the written narrative.
ReplyDeleteYes, it has a garden, plus I think there is also an infinity swimming pool! Not for the feint hearted...
