Friday 6 June

Hot overnight but should be cooler today. Morning tea under the carport. Finally got Vicki to place the order for some tops from BW Tribal (Qld First Nation company) as she and Joe both like my top from there. It's owned and operated by First Nation's people who use indigenous artist's artwork for the designs. Each design has its own story and each artist's background is provided. Hopefully we have the sizing right. They will be posted direct to Canada so that makes it really easy to order. Vicki and I then head off down the street and visit Lou's Closet. Louise has turned her garage into a second hand clothing shop along with a bit of bric a brac. Vicki buys me a blouse that I really like so I've done very well out of that little outing.
We then head to the cafe for a cuppa.
Just down the road is a second hand store that is reminiscent of Steptoe and Son. I haven't been in there and by the look of the good on sale out the front, I'm not sure any one else had either for a long time, but maybe I'm being too harsh.
We then head into the community centre to drop off some donations for the raffle for Sunday morning's Father's Day Pancake breakfast. I haven't offered to help for the breakfast as it is for 8 to 10 and that would mean a very early start to set up and I am on holiday after all! We did stay and help get the cutlery sorted though.
Everything is only a few doors away so there's no way to get my steps up if I'm relying on walking the main street! The fire station is on the next corner to the centre, which is next door to the gift shop which isn't open too often. And across the road from that is the post office with a lovely mural on the side wall.
Directly opposite corner to Vicki's place is a lovely building that truly could be used as a set for any Western movie. I truly expect horses to be hitched out front. I think it has been converted to 3 apartments for rent.
Back home again we don't sit around, as we then head off for a drive to Keremeos for a late lunch at Lass Chance which is new to the area. I don't think I will ever tire of the scenery along the way.
My chicken pesto flat bread was lovely, along with a glass of apple cider.
Time to head home and our timing is perfect as it just so happens to be happy hour back at the house! The peonies are just coming into flower and are a lovely welcome back home.
Sunset tonight out the front of the house was amazing, along with the plane flying overhead. Baxter rolling on the lawn looking easy too cute was a bonus performance.
