Second day at sea - New Year's Eve

Took ages to get to sleep last night, but still had a good sleep. Breakfast in the cabin and after showers and dressed we began our wandering through the ship again. the sea is like a mill pond. Apparently there was some rain overnight but we weren't aware.
Late morning coffees and we spent ages trying to book our complimentary dinner on the app. No surprise that we headed back to guest services to wait in the queue. After much ado about nothing we appear to be booked in to the Crown Grill on our last night of the cruise. We had tried to book in for the morning craft session but the app told us it was booked out. We thought we would just go and watch but it turned out that we were able to be involved too so stayed and worked on embroidered cards. It was certainly more successful than the string friendship bracelets we made on the previous ship!
Time for lunch and we head to the main dining room. Lunch was good and the company pleasant.
Not much of interest happening so we head back to the cabin and while Julie has a nana nap, I watch the Blake Lively movie"It ends with us" which I thoroughly enjoyed. Time to get ready for dinner a it is a formal night. E head to the elite bar for Our dinner drink. just love my Henricks martini. Dinner is at Sabatinis which is a specialty Italian restaurant. It was very busy and the food was excellent but once again the service was woeful, so much so that Julie ended up going to fill her own water glass and the female manager came over to us to apologise. She was aware that we had not been served as well as other dinners. That being the case she asked us to come back to the restaurant on another night as her guests. We told her that we would book in another night so she felt better, bless her.
Julie was able to try each of the desserts but I opted for a cocolate mint martini. We had arrived at the restaurant for our 7.20 reservation. It was now 10.30. No one in sight on our deck.
We went back to our cabin to freshen up and once again there was no power. I was not happy! A fellow engineer came and clicked a switch on the cupboard near it from. I told him to show me what he was doing and I world do it myself. I also told him that this wasn't good enough and I would not be putting up with it again. He assured me that it had been logged but that was cold comfort. As this ship is getting re furbished in November it is clear to me that bandaids are being used on problems in the mean time! Speaking of bandaids, we have stuck 2 bandaids over the sensor by the wardrobe area into the bathroom as the light comes on every time one of us goes to the bathroom through the night and it wakes the other of us. Problem solved. We headed to a couple of the bar areas to listen to the music and at midnight were watching over the piazza as we welcomed in the new year. Time to head back to our cabin. Happr new year!
