3rd day at sea - Happy new year

Had a late breakfast in the cabin. Got a phone call from someone senior in guest servicesto follow up my tantrum from last night over no power. She was very apologetic and once again questioned what we had plugged in... What don't they understand by the word Nothing! Anyway she is on the job now to try and get a final resolution. You can probably imagine what is going to happen if there is a further power outage. Last night Julie told the fellow that she expects to be upgraded to a stateroom. We'll see... We then ventured out to the craft class. the app shows it is booked out for every day but we went along as did many other extras.
Today's class was origami to make butterflies. Julie lasted only as long as it took for the paper to be handed out and left to go to the library and find a jigsaw puzzle to work on. i persevered and needed lots of help but eventually got there. Sat with some nice Italian ladies from Wollongong and Shellharbour so I knew the area they were from. I'm not ready to start my own origami classes and don't think my butterflies will actually make it home with me.
Time for a cuppa in the piazza. We then headed for lunch and asit was tiwards the end of the dining session we were quickly seated and served. The beef and broccoli was lovely, although the broccoli was in short supply!
I spent the afternoon reading out on our balcony and then went to the trivia quiz where I managed to confirm that there are lots of trivia that I dont know. Soon enough it was time for canapes and predinner drinks where 2 martinis were enjoyed. We managed only 15 minutes of karaoke as We had booked in to the other soecialty restaurant for dinner and were hopeful that it would be a much better experience than last night, and it was. The Crown Grill was excellent.
Butterfly prawns, Seafood bisque, rib steak, cheesecake! Yum... We then went to the music trivia quiz and the fellow who was running the event was a lot of fun, so we had plenty of laughs as we tested our 70s music knowledge. I knew most of the song names but not always who sang them. It was with much pleasure that we still had power in our cabin when we returned. The afternoon and evening have been the best on board to date.

  1. That menu was full of difficult choices. All that blue cheese, and then steaks, lamb, veal...perhaps the snapper. oh my.
Good luck for the room upgrade.
