Dubai to Prague

Excellent seats on the flight to Prague. Another 6 hours flying time to somehow survive. Between both flights I've managed to watch 15 episodes of Major Crimes.... None of the movies on offer interested me so now I'm a full season ahead of Adelaide's Major Crimes series. Food really good and having decided that it was okay to have a white wine with the breakfast meal, because it was really about 4.30 pm Adelaide time and then a scotch with the lunch 3 hours later I have no complaints re the service on Emirates. Got through Customs easily enough and then we all located our luggage, which is always a good feeling. Met by Helena out in the arrivals area. Eventually another 5 people made their way to our little group where we then all boarded a coach to take us to our hotel, about 35 minutes drive. weather is great, about 24 degrees. Arrive at our hotel which is the Grandior. Although the entrance is not at all impressive, it is really deceiving as it is definitely very flash inside. We get our room keys and head to our room, but only have enough time to open our cases and catch our breath, because we are all to meet downstairs for our welcome reception with Matthew our guide. Matej (as it is spelt in Czech) is delightful and I'm sure is going to look after us admirably. I am very tired but am grateful fir the glass of wine as we go into the room. There is already one loud woman who I am going to be avoiding. She's travelling alone and I've told Di to stop talking to her or she may expect us to adopt her! She's from Darwin and lacks a volume control. There are 40 in our group and all Aussies bar one couple from NZ. After our welcome meet, Matthew offers to take us for a 45 minute orientation walking tour. As tired as I am I figure at 5.15 pm Prague time, it is too early to go to bed so tag along for the walk. I've been to Prague before about 2 years ago so there are already a couple of places that are familiar, but I can see that I am going to enjoy seeing it all again. Leaving us near the old town, D, G, M, J and I decide to have a wander on our own and by the time we are back at the hotel agree to have a light diner in the cafe style place next to our hotel where we all have a baguette or wrap which we ordered by lots of pointing at pictures, and even then when our order came out Mike had managed to order 1 extra baguette... By 8 pm I was dead on my feet and we were all more than happy to call it quits for the day. Back in our room it was lights out at 8.30 and so ends our first day of our tour.
