Karen's day to herself

Managed to wake up way too early when I didn't need to, but was still nice to have a lie in and leisurely breakfast at 8 o'clock. Back to the room to update the blog, another cuppa and then checking out the weather which is meant to be 21 and increasing showers, I head off with jacket and brollie for the expected weather. Within 2 minutes the jacket has come off and I'm already wishing I hadn't worn a long sleeved shirt. Clearly the weather forecasters all go to the same school of 'guesstimates'!
The CAT transport system here is fabulous. Free buses all through the city. So I catch the red line, one street up and then get the yellow line after four stops and get dropped off right in front of Watertown, the factory outlet shops. The weather is glorious and no crowds at all, so for someone who does not ever go window shopping I am in my element. After a couple of hours of browsing I am now the proud owner of a new top, dress, sandals and leather wallet, not that there is anything left to go in the latter, but I remain ever the optimist. Very pleased with all my bargains as everything was heavily discounted. So time to meander my way back to the hotel to deposit my goodies and two CATs later I get off one street away and find an Italian restaurant where I make a dinner reservation for tomorrow night for my kitten herd. Back to the hotel then for some lunch and to sort my new purchases. Cuppa soup and crackers later, I reckon it's time to head up to the mall. I get on my red CAT again and three stops later are dropped right at the mall. Once again, no crowds so lots of opportunity to wander in and out any stores that take my fancy. Had a wander through London Court just on 4 o'clock so got to hear the clock bells. A group of young people in their 20s were walking past, and they all looked like they were dressed up ready for Halloween but apparently they were headed for a Zombie High Tea!!! I hope I don't regret adding this snippet because I don't want Princess Shiny Bright getting any silly ideas. Hmmm not quite sure how to rephrase that as I'm quite sure her head only holds silly ideas... I don't want Princess SB thinking that I would ever entertain the idea of any sort of involvement in anything even slightly related to Zombies!!!!! Right, now that's sorted.
As the weather is so nice I decide to walk back to the hotel as I'm sure it would only be about 15 minutes. Grabbed a muffin to have with a cuppa when I get back and so once back in my room, purchases put away, jug on the boil, muffin on a plate and feet up. Have had a lovely day. Even now have the opportunity to read my book. It's now wine o'clock and time to decide on dinner. I'm thinking Chicken Rogan Josh and room service. Might even then need to pop into the jimjams, hop into bed, grab the TV remote control and call it an early night. Another big day of sight seeing with the kittens tomorrow. Wonder how the gang of four have enjoyed their Wave Rock tour. Probably won't get back until about 10 pm again tonight so will be interesting to see how they fare with 2 very long tour days straight.
